Either way though, people were saying his contract was untradeable a couple of years ago. Now he is worth a lot more than a 1st?

Like do you just make stuff up to fit your argument and go from there?
Kadri had 87 points in 71 games for the Avs the year they won the cup (big part of their seeding)
Kadri missed 4 playoff games with injury
He was likely the biggest reason they beat the Blues, they don't without him
Scored an OT winner in the Cup Final
The fact that Toronto got rid of him because he played too hard in the playoffs is hilarious...guess who else has walked the line and got suspended in the playoffs...Sam Bennett
Kadri is EXACTLY the type of player teams want for the playoffs...even more so in the "Panthers era"
Blues chased him around for 3 periods after he bumped their goalie and he scored a hatty
Marchand turned out well but he had 47 points, was injured, and told them he would only go to the Panthers at the last minute after contract talks broke down...he is also older. Not really a comparable for market value. Kadri is also aging really well...you realize his last 4 seasons, all in his 30s are the best years of his career right?
