I'll say it now, if a bunch of liberal activists, whose ranks are populated with and financed by a foreign left wing authoritarian movement, take over and blockade 1/4 of downtown Edmonton, then purposely disrupt the work and sleep of thousands of people, while the RCMP refuses to do anything to address it, then I will support emergency measures being taken by any level of government to remove the people without physical harm to them. I have no problem if that exact scenario happens and PP / Smith choose to take action.
I also would like to call attention to Fuzz's bull#### narrative a few pages back that there were no accomplishments under Trudeau aside from pot. Leaving the wok stuff aside that I don't particularly care about enough to support it or be upset about it. Among other things, CCB, Paris accords, GIS, expansion of CPP, keeping people afloat through COVID while keeping us somewhat less desiesed than the other side of our giant indefensible boarder, a middle class tax cuts (somehow without feeling the need to cut taxes for the wealthy), a framework for starting dental care, a start to universal childcare, and yes backing off the criminalization of recreational substance use.
I don't think he was the best prime minister, I definitely don't think he was a good politician, he was generally under effective and indecisive, focusing on the wrong problems or taking half measures.
Trudeau was generally lucky that he got to go up against a tired party then two guys who were dumb enough to believe stupid things like trickle down economics while running in a generally intelligent and educated country like Canada, against a credible opponent like 2000s Harper he would have stood no chance. But that doesn't mean he was equally bad as Trump or PP and nor should we accept the rights overblown false narratives as a reason for why we should all eat a #### sandwich.
