We have a baby gate that needs to have it's hinges replaced. In order to remove and add new hinges the rod that they go on needs to be removed. However, this is being held on by a screw (see picture) and I cannot get it out - it just turns and turns. I've tried to use pliers to get it out, I've tried to remove the plastic (without being too destructive) but I have no idea what I can do to get it out.
Any suggestions?

Is it screwed into the wall or the screw for the clear plastic? Physically pull outwards on the gate while attempting to unscrew? Basically, try and put pushing pressure from the other side vs pulling?
