If I remember correctly, the 2010 Olympic Team had no Winsport on-ice as well. They may have played some low key ball hockey on Rink A as I think the ice was out. My understanding is it is an insurance thing and Hockey Canada has to pay it. What's the premium on $250,000,000 million of salary (that's a conservative number and just 2025-26)?
