The police chasing homeless people out of places is a national sport in the US, but also in many other countries unfortunately. Rounding them up, putting them in prisons or forced labor camps, physically driving them out of town etc etc.
Yeah, despite being common it's also extremely gross and unethical, and so incredibly stupid considering this is a solved problem.
Finland long since calculated that
by far the cheapest way to deal with homelessness is to start by putting roofs over their heads, and then went on to do just that, and presto. Very little homelessness, and even fewer problems caused by homeless people, saving much more money than the cheapass places we give homeless people cost.)
(Of course our current extremely right wing government is effing up all of it, but just because they're extremely corrupt and also really stupid and ignorant doesn't make this any less of a solved problem.)
