Backlund I think will be a deadline thing. If they aren't in the race, they will ask him if he wants to go, or if he wants to stay here to break the all games record for the club. That's how Steinberg sees it playing out and keep it in mind that he and Backlund are tight.

Brad Treliving was never going to sell for futures. He never did it before, it was never his plan. Once Conroy got in the plan changed to a rebuild. But the Flames were never going to trade any vets for futures at the 2023 deadline.
