I've heard different stories around that time. I heard something similar to that and i've also heard that the landing spot (bos or pit) was his call.
Don't think it makes a lick of difference either way. He wasnt going for anything that would alter the direction of the team given their lack of a position of leverage. It was B prospects and a late first. Similar as Jbo went for
Still, you didnt get this kind of drama weeks and months out where you have these statements coming out from the player's camp.
