This is always where I like to bring up the history of left-handedness. Around 1900, only 4% of people reported to be left-handed but by the 60's that rose to about 12% where it has stayed steady since.

Given my left-handed mother told me stories how they tied her left hand to the back of the chair at school and forced her to write right-handed, it feels like acceptance of the sinister hand has resulted in more lefties feeling comfortable being themselves.
