Yep been the same everywhere for ever really, just about every tournament is stay to play and has been that way as long as my son has been playing.
About 9 years ago I got roped onto the Board for our local minor hockey and I had just been away for our first Spring hockey tournaments that year which were stay to play. I recommended to the board that we approach the local hotels, If i remember in the end we made a deal with 3 or 4 and they gave us $10 a room and we said in the Tournament registrations that these were our recommended hotels. They also agreed to set up social rooms and mini stick rooms etc
