I really enjoyed this Dan Milstein interview, the downside is that it's in Russian, but it has a bunch of tidbits about the agent side of the game, building Gold Star, the Milstein camp, NHL draft, the E. Kane situation, etc.

That's the main Flames related tidbit:
Quote:
So, very often, players already playing in the league end up coming to us, because they feel more comfortable working with us. And it’s not necessarily just Russians. For example, Dan Vladar, a well-known goalie, was friends with Nikita Zadorov. Nikita used to call us all the time with different requests — from getting a restaurant reservation to all sorts of other things. At some point, Dan Vladar said, ‘Oh, you’re calling your agent again — can I talk to him too? I want that too.’ Something like that. And he’s Czech. I signed Dan, and after him came Slovak Martin Pospisil, and then Canadians followed, and so on.

Then Yegor Sharangovich joined the team, along with other clients of ours. Now there's also the Canadian Zane Parekh, who was selected 9th overall at the NHL Draft last year — next year he’ll be playing on that team. Then Daniil Miromanov came over from Vegas. So, somehow it just works out — one player, then another. When you do your job and do it really well, the players are naturally drawn to you and want their friends to work with you too.
