What does age have to do with it? 4 forward typically get #1 PP ice, and 6 forwards get top 6 ice. Michkov was not on the team the year before. Someone has to come off the top 2 lines and the #1 PP.
Brink got 3rd line minutes in 23/24, he got similar minutes to Frost and Farabee in 24/25.
Frost and Farabee's minutes slid 3 years in a row. At some point it will hurt their production. You have to make a decision at some point and contracts factor in. Did Philly make the right decision, we will never know as both players should get more opportuntiy with the Flames for now.
