Flyers started the rebuild earlier. They have Konecny and Couturier that get top 6 minutes and Couturier is like their Huberdeau, they would probably trade him if they could.

More draft picks, more prospects coming. If you keep all your vets, keep all your quality players, stockpile picks and develop more prospects, some players just won't get a crack.
Good teams make a call on players and it just could come down to we like the players but they 4 mentioned above me like better.

Brink is one year younger and Foerster is two years younger. Tippett is older. I am personally thankful that the Flames do not fire sale assets around the concept that players won’t get a crack if you don’t trade vets. It just is not factually accurate. And it is poor asset management.
