Not to mention, if the WHL or any CHL league was to disappear, the next job opportunity for a lot of those kids will be asking people if they want fries with that. Most are not getting accepted to college because there are only so many spot available. These leagues are a huge opportunity for many players to develop their skills and follow their dreams. If they disappeared, it's not like there is something to replace it.
My first "career" job was a virtually unpaid internship in a small town I had never been to and had to move 1,000+ km to in order to have. My next job I applied for a position in Vancouver but was offered the job in Prince George (almost 700 km away). It's just a fact that many people have to go to where the opportunity is being offered if they want to pursue their career goals. It's not something exclusive to hockey players.
