Most overrated player in the history of the game, and this is even from outside the fact I despise the Oilers. Selfish, one dimensional player who is undisciplined and a poor leader and likely poor teammate. Has been put on a pedestal by the media since his early teens and that has propped his stardom far above what he should be. Keeps being touted as the best player in the world but hasn’t even been the best player on his team the last few years and can’t really recall when he has been the best player in the league any given year. You don’t win with players like this, he continues to be a complete no show when everything is really on the line. Without all the relating from the media, McDavid should realistically be signed to a Marner type deal, maybe very slightly more but not significantly.

I do have friends that ask me about McDavid or tell me that he's a winner.

My reply is he never won in Junior, he hasn't won in the NHL. Sure he's the guy that will get you there. But in the last couple of finals when they really needed McDavid he fell apart or became invisible.

He's not really a guy that can elevate his game. His game just is what it is. He's fast, he can make moves, but he can't adapt his game.
