Mavi diary - day 24

Dear diary! Exciting weekend! I travelled to France for Leon’s wedding. We kept it a big secret…so much so that there was another oilers wedding on the same weekend! It was great though because Leon and I decided which oilers would attend which wedding. That’s leadership and also a lesson about fealty, as Leon and I both demand.

Leon looked beautiful in his green suit, and while he took off his engagement hat for pictures, it wasn’t all Wiener schnitzel and schnapps for Leon. I told him Europeans were shorter than us, so he shouldn’t buy something off the rack. Leon made his last decision for himself and honestly, when I looked over when he was sitting down, I thought he had a suit jacket and matching shorts…which looked quite fetching anyways. Turned out that Leon said “let’s go” too soon at the shop. Those pants were halfway up his mighty calfs!

He was able to get identical matching colour sliders sandals so at least Leon was able to show those off. And his kicking ankles were hot. I’m lucky to see them every day but from the gasps of others, I knew that they were as impressed as I am every time I feast my eyes.

I’ve left the best to last diary. Me!

I forgot my tie and honestly I forgot to get buttons on my shirt. I pulled it off though like all of those first round games versus Kings…it was just me out there doing what I do best. I improvised and used my sunglasses as a tie and that’s innovation right there because I also bypassed the glasses case while protecting my chest from harmful UV rays. I’m going to add inventor to my list of post retirement careers. I’m also going to be a house designer, bar owner, and colour coordinator.

I took a big step forward with colour this weekend and I’m not sure how I did it or if I could do it again, but I wore beige. Beige suit, matching beige sneakers, and no belt to disrupt the beige. Lauren said the colour really matched my personality and emotions.

I almost cracked a smile but I’m blaming it on the euro water not smelling like west Edmonton so will sign off here.
