It doens't matter there are more of those inside the phone. The reason the manufactures put that one behind the battery is so the sales people don't waste the money on shipping and wate the technicians time sending the phone away. However sometimes it doesn't always get wet but they will be able to tell once its open.
You can try sending it away but I know some places charge if it comes back with liquid or physical damage, depends who you have your phone through. If they ask if you got it wet be honest, else you are just wasting your time and everyone else.
