To further this a little bit more, Cole Reschny scored at around a 1.24 ppg in Victoria up to January (pretty close to Danielson’s 1.14 in his draft year). But he scored at around 1.75 ppg in the last 29 games after Victoria brought in some high end talent that could play with him.
From my viewings of the player, he played the same game and had the same exciting skill set before and after January. But after January, he had more guys that could finish his plays so he put up more points.
Supporting talent can have a pretty significant impact on how many points a prospect puts up, and Danielson showed that it’s more likely the lack of talent around him that limited his production.
