Never mind intangibles; this particular model doesn't even try to capture all the tangibles. It seems to be based entirely on offensive production per dollar of the contract, allowing for probable trends due to the player's age.

Dom's system does capture more than just offensive production. It tries to assess a player's overall impact on a game (or to be more exact, on a the number of wins in a season). For example, Jacob Slavin rates very highly in his model.
I'm not a huge analytics guy. But they do give some insight in player value. And every one of the models has limitations - including the ones every NHL team employs people full-time to formulate.
