Verbeek has not had a great track record with his younger high picks. I believe the negotiation with Drysdale went poorly and he was moved out for Gauthier. Same for Zegras who had a tough RFA negotiation. McTavish is rumored to not be happy with his role and could be in a tough negotiation and driving the desire for a deal.
I agree they would want to win now. The 3 way with Dallas makes a lot of sense. Zary as a piece makes sense. Would the Ducks have interest in Andersson? Andersson+Zary+1st is a strong offer.
