Honestly, I would do it. It would be the ultimate troll on the Oilers, especially if he ended up winning a Cup in Calgary.
I mean it's so far fetched that it would ever happen, but I have no doubt that if he goes to free agency, every team with cap space will be putting an offer out there, including the Flames.
I am resigned to never seeing the Flames win another Cup in my life time. At this point, any thing that brings drama and lolz is good enough.
Make no mistake though, McDavid could carry this team pretty far. I also have faith that the coaches her could get him to cool it with the cheating, not overplay him, and not make him be captain.
