For Conroy he sees good future RD in the system coming and if he can move Andersson to improve the team in the long term or that fills other holes the team has he is going to look at that. This isn't a have to trade him scenario though or that the player wants out, the player wants a certain term and dollar figure the Flames are not willing to give him right now. That does not mean the door is closed on giving it to him at a further date down the road.

This is a really great reminder to all.
The Flames do not have to brute force a deal to appease the Stars or VGK and it is not just because those two teams are bidding against other teams like the Red Wings, Sharks, Hurricane, Leafs, Bruins, Blues, Sabres... they are also bidding against the Flames who can extend Andersson, take him off the trade block, and deny all of those teams the chance to upgrade their RD depth.
I am still hopeful that the Sharks up their offer first. They must be looking at Klingberg and thinking he would look a lot better on the 3rd pair instead of the 1st pair.
Orlov-Andersson
Mukhamadullin-Liljegren
Ferraro/Dickinson-Klingberg
X: Leddy, Thompson
That D group is starting to look viable. If Dickinson kicks down the door they can trade Ferraro for an upgrade in the middle 6 wingers. But without a #1RD that right side is still pretty gross.
