I dont think anyone should be pulling any story morals out of this show.
Now, I'm not the most well-versed in Oil and Gas Companies, I do understand that they are extremely powerful as they have a lot of money and influence, that being said, its always been my understanding that they're usually a bit more subtle about it?
I will say that one thing I liked was that Billy Bob consistently talks a big game about the power and supremacy of Oil Companies, etc, and then as soon as he's in private or trusted company he openly admits that he made all that #### up!
