This is also why we need to hopefully pick high in the draft the next couple years and start drafting more forward prospects.

Which has already started to happen.
In the last 2 drafts, they've had 7 picks in the first 2 rounds, and they've selected a forward with 6 of them.
That could just be the way things fell, but I do think there is some preference for forwards with the higher picks.
