I am diversified a bit with some investments in real estate and and the stock market. I am definitely open to other ways.
I've had couple... one I sold and did very well (valuation was slightly over a million when I sold - started with a parter for $50k each) and one that failed miserably due to a total lack of support and understanding of my market by the franchisor... Either way be prepared to work your ass off for at least 5 years before you start seeing the rewards - like someone else said if employees call in sick at the last minute its you - bottom line its always you... Keep in mind the sale came after rounds of refinancing, many sleepless nights (head hits the pillow and brain takes off), and stress levels that led serious health problems... Bottom line it takes a special person to be successful at a franchise it is NEVER as easy as investing in it and sitting back and collecting after a few years...
