It's crazy when you look at their contracts. They currently only have 5 forwards (Crosby, Rust, Rakell, Brazeau, and Dewar), 3 defensemen (Karlsson, Letang, Graves), and 1 goalie (Jarry) signed past this season off their main roster. After next season, they only have 2 forwards, 2 defensemen, and 1 goalie, and after that only 1 player (Graves). No one on their main roster is signed past 3 years after this next season.

It's pretty clear that they are going for a complete turnover in the next couple of seasons.

Kudos to Pittsburgh for planning a rebuild so effectively. Explains how they managed to go from Lemieux to Crosby. They seemed to have set themselves up perfectly to make a similar transition.
