I get it. I am just saying that I think the Stars roster looks better if they keep Robertson over Johnston for a few reasons:
1) Robertson is their entire LW depth chart and the drop from him to Benn is huge
2) The return on Johnston would be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay bigger. Even just the example of Andersson, Coleman, and Pospisil is good, but then adding in 3 retention slots (1 for Andersson this year and 2 for Coleman's remaining years) and a cap dump in 2 years of Lyubushkin... that is a lot of value adds considering dumping 1 year of Dumba cost a 2nd.
For Robertson without an extension I would give a lot less and I think the end result for the Stars is a lot worse.
