Ya, I am honestly not sure I would add much to Andersson for Robertson. The Stars are in such a bad cap situation that Andersson is their only option for adding to the D group within their cap constraints for this season and next season they are going to have to shed salary from the forward group.
The Flames have huge leverage over the Stars in this situation.
Also, Robertson is not what the Flames need, especially with Huberdeau in the mix. I look at the lines and it is a red flag for me to invest so much on the wings with so many issues down the center.
Huberdeau-Kadri-Coronato
Robertson-Frost-Zary
Coleman-Backlund-Lomberg
Farabee-Sharangovich-Klapka
X: Pospisil, Kirkland
Finally, I am having a really hard time believing the Stars would want to move Robertson out after they just jettisoned Marchment to Seattle. That is like 60 goals on the LW that they would be removing from the roster to maintain 8 centers and then Benn is your top line LW?
????-Hintz-Rantanen
Benn-Seguin-Johnston
Steel-Duchene-Bourque
Back-Faksa-Blackwell
X: ?????, ?????
I know one of their forwards will need to be moved out but Robertson doesn't make sense to me. I like the look of their roster better with the proposed Johnston return (Andersson, Coleman, Pospisil and Lyubushkin removed):
Robertson-Hintz-Rantanen
Coleman-Seguin-Duchene
Benn-Bourque-Steel
Back-Faksa-Blackwell
X: Pospisil, ?????
Heiskanen-Lindell
Harley-Andersson
Bichsel-Lundvist
X: Kolyachonok
If they get the Flames to use 2 retention slots on Andersson and Coleman, then there is enough cap space to fill the 23rd spot and make a significant deadline add for the playoffs.
