The point is that you are replying to a specific statement with false generalizations that you are making zero effort to prove.
"There must be another option out there". The consensus is that your statement is false.
Go ahead and walk through the list of RD and find one that you think might be up for grabs that fits the criteria. A good starting point would be to look at the top 64 D man in that fan vote. Most of the young high end RD are unlikely to be available won't be traded for McTavish because they are on young rebuilding teams that already have C depth.
For example, Red Wings wouldn't trade Seider to the Ducks because they have Kasper, Danielson, etc. and have no need for McTavish but they have a lot of need for Seider as he is a rare RHS D.
As a Flames fan you should be happy that this is true because it inflates Andersson's value beyond what he would be able to fetch in a normal situation.
