If the Flames trade a '26 1st round pick, just negotiate it so that its the lower of the two between the Vegas pick and the Flames pick, unless both picks are 24th or later, then it becomes the higher of the two. No top-10 protection needed.
Or make it protected in that if its 16 or higher in 2026, the Flames can choose to send the 2026 pick or send the 2027 unprotected.
