I think what is missing is the betrayal here; Ron and Don were really good buddies for many years, and did a lot of charity work for many communities.

Coaches Corner to me were characters played for viewers and ratings, which generated high advertising revenue, and created a narrative beyond the 10 minutes or whatever they were given on Saturday night. Unfortunately, they became caricatures of themselves and ultimately they had nowhere to take the story.

I loved the Rock ‘em videos, until I grew up and recognized the permanent damage that was being done. Lots of understanding has changed the mentality of headshots and fighting, and I would say that lots of understanding has happened as well in relationships and understanding between people. Maybe I’m wrong, but to me Coaches Corner is both a product and reflection of the time, nothing more and nothing less. I can’t even watch the rock ‘em now.

Coaches Corner is gone and should have been gracefully retired long before “the events” that got it removed.

Why Ron Maclean is trying to be the next story here…who knows?
