I don't get the need to tear everyone apart now, and have their legacy publicly desecrated. Times were different, and standards were different. IMO, it's okay to improve and correct our views without attacking the people of prior generations who held those archaic views, because they were simply products of their time, as we are products of ours.

I know a few people like this. Who tear down anyone with a controversial past.
The funny thing is, these same people have said some terrible things in the past as well when they were younger. Things that would get you cancelled now. But obviously they were never publicly documented or scrutinized the way they do to other people.
The hypocrisy is crazy to me.
