I'm not saying they will or should trade him, but Dallas is a team looking to get over the hump and get a cup after losing in the conference finals 3 years in a row. They are deepest at the C position with 4 very good C's in Johnston, Seguin, Duchene and Hintz. Icetime was fairly even between them all but Johnston clearly had the most icetime.
It would make sense to trade from this position of strength to upgrade at other positions of need. Is Johnston the guy they would want to trade? probably not but of the 4 he also has the most value followed by Hintz. If someone offers enough value for Johnston I think Dallas could consider it given how much depth they have at the C position.
