They also then can hold into their young star winger as well while still having very solid C depth with room made for Bourque who if he is going to develop needs more minutes at C

Sure but it’s not Rasmus Andersson (or any package from the Flames) that forces the Stars to part with a player like Johnston.
Johnston is the type of asset that you part with for a Quinn Hughes.
