A part of scouting a player is evaluating risk- not only the risk of if a given prospect will make it to the show, but the risk of of a prospective draftee not reaching their projection. That's one reason why Levshunov was taken early over Parekh- because he already showed well against men in the NCAA with a high-level two-way game, combined with the physical attributes (size, strength, skating) that better allow for success. There were some who thought Parekh might have difficulty translating his high-octane offense to the next level, which at the time, would mean a bust- based on his deficient size and defensive game.

To FlamesDraftPrognosticator, it's not always just about evaluating talent- if that's all it was about, then scouting would be easy.
