$10M x 6yrs + $6Mx3 at 35 years old
In theory both paths gets him to 38 but he would need a GM to go crazy and throw massive contracts at him because "the cap is going up". He would also need to maintain his play and health enough to get another significant contract at 35. The safer route would be to get the 8 year extension as soon as possible.

The team that gets him will either extend him to an 8 year deal or do a sign and trade to another team before July 1st. He will most likely get his 8 year deal no matter what.
