I have a few farmers in the family and when I go help in the spring and again in the fall, i dont, and none of them, dress like cowboys. Its tshirts, jeans (shorts when its hot-almost always for me), ball cap and steel toe work boots.
Theres ranchers and rodeo folks seem to wear it as a costume.
And honestly, dressing up like a 'cowboy' the way people do looks ridiculous to me. Downtown office workers wearing it is just weird.
