Also the whole equivalence is just craziness to me. How can the wealth disparity and some peoples want to continue that increase until it inevitably results in mass unrest not be considered the most extreme issue we're dealing with? I hate this argument personally. I know it seems logical, but its overly simplistic and flawed.
High-Net Worth individuals and corporations are mobile in a Globalized economy as well as Tax Havens, etc.
So you can tax them and get a small amount of something or tax the hell out of them and get a giant slice of nothing.
Why did 2 major Tech giants move from California to Texas? Why is Apple's HQ in Ireland?
"But if we just taxed them appropriately tho!!"
Tax Policy is not that easy.
