Other than whatever returns come via Andersson getting moved I’d be surprised if there are any trades the Flames pull off for a year or so.

The plan seems to be keep drafting via the picks acquired from dumping all of our vers. Keep a small core of vets to mentor younger players. Stay away from free agency.

I think the plan will change in a year or two after the younger players have has an audition and they know what their gaps are. Guys like Backlund will also have to be replaced.

I doubt there are a lot of UFAs that would want to come here at this point anyway. Until we’re more competitive. Hopefully Andersson can find us a young center.
