He's looking to make an asset management move with Andersson.
Are they hearing "if you're in it and we don't have UFAs expiring I'll let you see it through, but I'm not adding any contracts that don't fit our future window, and we are in asset management mode"?
You hear about Kadri wanting to stay and believing in the direction, but at his age how can that be so with the evidence leaning more torwards retool/rebuild then going for it?
Even a belief in a pivot this summer after just missing the playoffs last year would bring some hope to veteran players, but then doing nothing yesterday and clearly moving Andersson means a step back.
