Its weird, like I said I coach young QB's and have done so for years, and over the last 4 years the accepted throwing mechanics have changed a bunch of times. Its gone from the traditional over the shoulder, to a speed release and a almost emphasis on throwing across the body, and watching CFL QB's they've gone almost to a mostly wrist action throwing action.


I get its the idea to get rid of the ball quickly, but it almost forces a QB to throw to check downs and short crossing routes.


I would if I was an OC at the CFL level look at Vernon and want him to get into space, I'd even had a 70/80 offence with a line roll and even put an H back on the roll side. Especially early in the season when offensive lines are still trying to get their chemistry.


I just don't find CFL offenses to be all that inspiring anymore.
