While I don’t disagree with you that I want our young players to get opportunities, acquiring Byram doesn’t block Brzustewicz from anything unless he’s able to play the opposite side, which is a tall task to ask of a rookie.
Byram would be blocking guys like Solo and Kuznetsov. And he’s essentially the same age as them.
