It may have been in the past but it certainly isn't now.
From ottawaparmedics.com....wage rage for
Advanced Care Paramedics (roughly the same as a paramedic in Alberta)...wages in 2006 range from $31 to $35...rates in 2007 as high as $37.88.
Wage rates for
primary care paramedics (EMT's in Alberta)...in 2006...$26 to $33, 2007...high as $35.50.
So compare that to Calgary EMS and they're paid less by a few dollars per hour.
