Something like that. I do think the Marner signing and cap pressure will make things tougher for Vegas, which might force him to be a bit more open minded.

Interesting, I do not have the Lightning on my list...
Building teams with good pieces:
- Red Wings - They need a RD upgrade but it likely doesn't work as we would want Danielson and they do not want to give him up, also Andersson reportedly won't extend there.
- Mammoth could be a great fit as they have lots of good young Cs (more than roster spots for them to play in) and a need for a #1RD so they can compete this year. No rumours yet about Andersson talking extension or blocking it.
- Sharks also has a lot of young Cs and is desperate for several D upgrades and depth as they prepare to circle the drain for another season. With the D market disappearing they would not be able to get any D support to help Andersson. He is rumoured to no want to extend there but you have to think that they will be cup contenders within 8 years.
- NYR doesn't make sense, they need LD support if Miller leaves.. and if they are chasing Andersson, they do not have assets that Conroy would get excited about
Contenders with little to offer:
- Stars need to get from the Conference finals to Cup contention and RD is a weakness. Cap constraints are huge here which makes Andersson their only choice but outside of Johnston they have nothing the Flames need
- Hurricanes do need to get younger with their RD and their depth is getting questionable but they are unlikely to offer the one piece the Flames want
- Leafs have nothing of interest
- Vegas has nothing to offer and it would be self-sabotaging for the Flames to help Vegas at all next season
Out of contention:
- Blue Jackets running back last year’s D group
- LAK was in the mix?? This wasn’t even in the rumours until the story broke that Andersson wouldn’t go there.
