You know when you're in a room, and everything seems fine, then the fridge or compressor turns off and you realize how noisy it actually was? From that moment on, you really notice the noise. My office is like that. Every day.

I actually got a pair of active noise reduction headphones, just to try and make things a bit quieter. They don't work great, but they do cut the volume.
I'm used to it now. That doesn't mean I've come to like it.
