I think it all comes down to conversations between Anderson and Conroy. If Anderson said right from the get go he is a rental unless it's Vegas, then Conroy has no reason to be upset. If Anderson has said otherwise, and Conroy has acted on Anderson's statements, only to have the carpet pulled out from under him, then Conroy has a right to be pissed.

It's hard to imagine Conroy would negotiate a deal with LA if he knew Anderson would not even listen to their extension offer, but who really knows.

I believe the Flames will get more than a second round pick for him, which is what they used to draft him. If management can keep trading up in value for assets it's still a win. Can't always hit for a home run.
He only has a 6 team no trade list
Assume he has the follwing teams for sure on it.
Edmonton
Winnipeg
Buffalo

Most likely
Ottawa
Vancouver

leaving only 1 other team and according to most agents Most players have all the Canadian teams on the list.

It is possible that some of the teams interested in Anderson only want him with an extension, but I would think if your team was competitive and you would think having a whole year to convince him to sign an extension its probably not a big deal. Its not like you are signing him for the last few months of the season, if he is traded before the season he is moving there for the year and going to get settled in and move his wife and kids there.

So as long as he fits in and is enjoying it you would have to think your team has a better then average chance of resigning him.
