I don’t really read these comments as “outrage”, I guess. Just opinions about how the Flames didn’t handle this one the best which is just true. I agree with you it’s easy now to look back and say “well that’s the benefit of hindsight” but also that’s why these experts are experts is to avoid this situation.

It’s a near impossible job, being an exec in the NHL as 31 teams aren’t happy with their management teams. Conroy will be fine with this one, and the management group. It really isn’t a big deal as it’s not like they can control what Andersson will wont do, but clear now a new tone and direction is needed in handling pending UFAs and that includes players that are 2 or so years out not just 1.
