This may not be what some want to hear, but at this point the value of retaining the player may outweigh the value in trading him, and if this is the case it’s just part of the cost of chasing a spot this past season.
I agree that the team likely takes a step back if he’s not on the team. Of course I thought the same last summer and the team was better not worse. Though, again, I think that they are worse without Rasmus. I tend to think that Conroy’s plan is not a full scale tear down in one year but a gradual replacing of older players for younger prospects. Honestly, his plan seems good to me. Do his best to maximize assets and lean into drafting, which has been a strength of this team for the last while.
