I think in many cases Offers with 2 years remaining > offers with an extension.
Because when there are 2 years remaining you still have an entire market to trade the player to, the thought of "will he extend" isn't as important because you had 2 years of the player.
The problem is once an extension enters the discussion then teams want an assurance he will re-sign and it almost gives the player a full NTC.
The biggest return for Andersson would have been at the 2024 Draft with 50% retention, you would have had a huge bidding war for 2 seasons of Andersson at $2.275M
