Teams not going to acquire Andersson for the acquisition cost unless they know he is going to sign him.
Andersson may not have a full NTC but he has a lot of power because he can say he won't sign
Vegas took a big run at him last week but couldn't get it done.
There was another team that thought they can get it done, but Andersson wouldn't extend at this time.
Don't think Vegas could do enough to get the player, but there were others who couldn't get a commitment from Andersson.
When Conroy says Andersson could start the season with the Flames, Friedman thinks it is because of that reason. (Essentially the teams that can pay the asking price for Andersson might not be the teams that he is willing to extend with right now)
The one benefit (of having Andersson start the season with Calgary) according to Friedman is that there is motivation for Andersson to have a big season but it is a gamble.
