LA Draft Recap POST REAL LIFE DRAFT
#11 – Roger McQueen. Went #10 to Anaheim. +1
Ugh. The Ducks get their new Getzlaf for the next 15 years.
#36 – Ryker Lee. Went #26 to Nashville. +10
He's in a good system, where everyone is old as dirt. With a good centre, he's a decent second liner. If Nashville finds a centreman for him (Svechkov?) then he could push to the first line.
#39 – Charlie Tretheway. Went #73 to Pitsburgh. -34
Personally, I think that the Penguins got a steal here, and there is no one standing in the way of his development.
#53 – Theo Stockselius. Went #54 to Calgary. -1
Bonus here for being a Flame. Worked out last year when I drafted Suniev in a similar position. He can be coached into being a really great prospect.
#67 – Michel Pradel. Went to Detroit #75. -8
In Yzerman's mind, I think that he dreams of a Cossa/Pradel tandem in the NHL in three years, when Gibson is done. Both are on the CPHL Kings, now.
Not too bad, really. Lee moving up into a first round talent was really a score. I also think that the big dropper, in Tretheway, is better than he ended up going. Not sad. Except about my top prospect sitting in Anaheim!
